RIDGELAND HIGH SCHOOL WOMEN’S SOCCER TEAM

5 TIME, DEFENDING 4A STATE CHAMPIONS

PROUDLY INVITES ALL RIDGELAND EATERIES TO JOIN IN THEIR:

“APPEALS TO MEALS” FUNDRAISER

Welcome, and thank you in advance for your support of your state champion Titans. The women’s soccer team at RHS has, like you, been a consistent winner over the last five years. The girls have placed Ridgeland on the map and they now extend an invitation to you: come and be a part of our WINNING TRADITION!

Our history

Ridgeland High School was established in 2002. Since its inception, the women’s soccer team has won the 4A state title in soccer – EVERY YEAR! This marked the first time that any school had won any state title in its first year. The girls also pulled off this remarkable feat without any juniors or seniors on the team; which was another first in the state of MS. Since then, several of our girls have continued their soccer at the junior and senior college level and this year, with Rachel Givan, we send one of our own to the University of North Carolina who has won the NCAA DI Championship 19 times! With Rachel, the RHS Titans also proudly claim a member of the USA 16, 17, and 20 and under National Teams. Ridgeland has finished in the Clarion Ledger’s Top Ten every year, and they finished this year with their highest ranking ever at #2 in the state. The team is also included in Region III’s Top Ten, and has made several appearances in the National Top 25 as well. All of the Titan home games, as well as their annual tournament, are played at Freedom Ridge Park.

Traveling Titans

The Titans annually travel throughout the state and region. The 2007-2008 schedule includes trips to: Tupelo, Gulfport, and our annual, season ending trip to New Orleans, where the girls join with local New Orleans’ schools to provide community service in the continued assistance of Katrina relief. Future destinations include the Pensacola, FL area, and Baton Rouge, LA. So, when you join our team, your name gets carried much further than just metro-Jackson.

Brooke Welch Memorial Tournament

The Titans annually host an open tournament for area high school teams. This event, which carries the name of our teammate who died in 2005, brings in boys and girls teams from Louisiana, Florida, and Mississippi. Last year, we had 40 teams with our most traveled team coming from Miami, FL. Local and area college coaches use this tournament to scout area talent and it provides two great days of high school soccer. An estimated 1100 people came and saw last year’s event, and the 2007 tournament looks to be even bigger.

Titans in the Classroom and Community

The girls annually take part in many community programs such as: Adopt-A-Child/Family, Angel Tree, Toys for Tots, and TOP Soccer. Many of the team’s member are also involved in: The Big Brother/Big Sister Mentoring Program, Ridgeland Junior Ambassadors, and the team regularly hosts a summer camp for ages K-6th grade. However, their excellence on the field, and the time spent in these, and many other activities, does not take away from the high standards the girls have set in the classroom. The girls’ soccer team at RHS currently boasts a team GPA of 3.54 (the highest of any team sport at RHS.)

As you can see, the women’s soccer program at RHS has established itself as an example of excellence on the field, in the community, and in the classroom. Also, the girls have attracted local, state, and regional attention to the city of Ridgeland. However, maintaining this high standard of excellence requires many forms of monetary and material resources. This is where you can help. In return, you and your business name will be associated with one of most successful high school programs in the region. There are three ways to help and join our family:

I. Meal Donator

n You and your eatery donate a meal for the team. This could include a pre-game meal before a match or for one of our road trips

n Cater the annual team party (this is our year end celebration held each spring)

n Meal(s) provider at the Titan’s annual soccer tournament (provides food at the “Hospitality Tent” for the college coaches and tournament officials)

II. AD SPONSOR - $300.00

n This is a one time, yearly fee and in return, you will receive the following:

1) The ad of your choosing that will be printed on 250 posters that will be distributed over the greater Jackson metro area. These posters carry the team’s upcoming schedule and are approximately 2’ x 3’.

2) Your business name on our team banner that will be displayed at all soccer games that we play, including playoffs.

3) Two season passes good for any RHS home soccer game, excluding playoffs.

4) Your business name mentioned as a team sponsor on B93.7’s radio talk show, “Titan Talk” on the night(s) when the girls soccer team is covered

5) Your business name listed as a team sponsor on the team’s web page

Checks may be made payable to “RHS girls soccer”

III. TITAN’S NIGHT OUT

n Your establishment agrees to donate a percentage of the revenue generated in a given amount of time

n The amount of the percentage, and the amount of time covered may be established by the provider

n If necessary, or if you want, the team will be on hand to act as volunteer servers (tips collected by the team will be added to the amount of the revenue generated during the set time)

n For this fundraiser you will receive all of the above, plus:

6) School and area radio show announcements that provide the time and place of each event

Again, thank you so much for your consideration and support of our team. If you have any questions, the contact information is listed below. We look forward to you joining our family.

All arrangements, “Titan’s Night Out,” and payments, must be completed before September 30th, 2007. This is to ensure that your company ad/name will be place on the schedule-poster and the team banner.

Sincerely,

Josh Avenmarg, Head Coach
